(Ann W. Rainbow, wife of retired UAL Pilot Ab Rainbow)
 
Ann Wharrey Rainbow, 80, of 290 Millerstown Road, Gettysburg, died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005 in the Gettysburg Hospital.
 
Born Feb. 4, 1925 in Sewickley, she was the daughter of the late William and Florence Haverline Wharrey. She was the wife of Abner H. Rainbow for 60 years.
 
Mrs. Rainbow was a graduate of Slippery Rock College and pursued graduate studies at Penn State. She taught school in Coropolis and Wyckoff, N.J. Mrs. Rainbow was a volunteer coordinator for the Adams County Library System. She was a member of the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, Friends of the Library, Over the Teacup, Gettysburg Garden Club, and the Gettysburg Country Club.
 
Surviving in addition to her husband are one son, Frederick Rainbow of Millersville, Md.; two granddaughters; one great-grandson; one sister, Lillian Schafer of Seven Lakes, N.C., and one brother, James Wharrey of Franklin Park.
 
Memorial services will be on Friday, Sept. 30, at 11 a.m., in the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, 208 Baltimore St., with the Rev. Dr. Daniel T. Hans and the Rev. Dr. Robert Duncan officiating.
 
Friends will be received in the fellowship hall following the services.
