A COUNCIL 12 RESOLUTION

WHEREAS The United Pilot’s defined benefit retirement plan (the “A” plan) is of great value and extraordinary importance to all United pilots whether active or retired, and
WHEREAS The United MEC has chosen a course of action which has the effect of an agreed termination of the pilots’ “A” plan,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the pilots of Council 12:
1. View the MEC position with respect to termination of the pilots’
“A” plan as premature, and
2. Believe the MEC must immediately act to preserve the “A” plan as long as possible, in light of pending legislation, and
3. Direct the Council 12 Officers to propose a resolution at the next
regular or special MEC meeting stating that the United MEC opposes any
action that causes or has the effect of causing an agreed termination of the “A”
plan or a reduction of already accrued benefits.
