Dear URPBPA Member,

URPBPA occasionally receives requests from the media for the names of
individuals who are willing to be interviewed.  Your Board members
continue to have difficulty in coming with potential interview subjects
to meet these requests, since we have purposely not collected any data
on your financial situation or the impact a pension termination would
have on you individually.

The press, at least currently, is looking for individuals who would have
to make major life style adjustments in the event of a plan termination.
 They typically are not interested in the fact you might have to sell
some of your "toys."  They are looking for individuals or families that
are going to face a real hardship.  These might include such things as
having to sell your home, inability to take care of aging parents
financially, inability to pay for children's schooling, etc.  We are
sure there are many more.  In most cases, they will want the interview
to be "on the record," meaning that your name could be used.
