Ed,
I believe that we should scrutinize the testimony given by Glenn Tilton, last
Tuesday. I did not get to see it in its entirety. However, the portion that I
witnessed showed, in my opinion, Tilton to be extraordinarily vague and non
specific as well as providing answers that were riddled with blatant perjury.
He demonstrated his single focused goal of killing our pensions, while refusing
to consider any alternatives, as they developed. In fact, it appeared reasonably
clear that he would not partake in any legislative relief that may develop in
the future, for the purpose of saving the pensions. I remember Tilton stating
to the associated press that UAL had restructured to the extent that they would
be able to exit bankruptcy without ATSB assistance, prior to final denial.
Within weeks, he followed this statement and ATSB denial with his attack on the
pensions. This is his MO to which he adheres as he unjustifiably and
maliciously attacks the pensions. Would it make sense for all of us to
scutinize his testimony, if we can get a tape, and document the perjury for the
purpose of demonstrating the real story behind our problem.
Sincerely, Frank Ernst
